For day 21 of 30 days wild we explored the shore, spotted butterflies in a wildflower meadow and made a stick rattle.
We’ve discovered Fridays are the best day to have after school adventures. At the end of the week we can enjoy playing for as long as we like.
Today we went to the shore to run wild, throw pebbles in the sea, find shells and balence stones.
We also found a teeny tiny crab claw, lots of sea glass and some interesting seashells.
We were grateful to see the sunshine after several weeks of heavy persistent rain. And it was especially nice to let the littlest down on the ground to explore.
As well as playing on the shore we also went to spot butterflies in a nearby wildflower meadow. We were careful to stick to the paths (even though they were a little overgrown in places.
There were lots of beautiful Marbled White butterflies enjoying the wildflowers as well as some Meadow Brown’s.
We also found some mushrooms hiding in the long grass and spied beetles and bees buzzing back and forth.
Whilst we were on the shore we also collected lots of shells and stones with holes in.
When we got home we threaded them onto a piece of string. The we tied the string to a branched stick to make a stick rattle.
We then had lots of fun making as much noise as possible with it.
